Central Ohio can help!
This is a non-violent action to raise aid funds for Gaza
Please join this community of caring people who want to raise funds to provide much-needed aid funds for the Palestinian people who have suffered so much in the siege of Gaza. You are also encouraged to raise funds for other areas suffering from human rights abuses, such as Sudan or the Congo.
Your funds will have the most impact if you send contributions to agencies that directly support the people of Gaza or the region of the world you wish to send aid to. We suggest the following agencies:
Please note this event will take place on public trails at a metropark and this will not be a permitted event. We are a group of like-minded community members walking in solidarity because of our shared belief in liberation. We welcome people of all faiths or no faith, disabled and non-disabled persons, all ethnicities, and all gender identities.
Pet-friendly and wheelchair-accessible trails, along with restrooms and water, are available at Highbanks. More information about where to meet up and other important details will be sent by email, so please make sure you register to receive information here.

Log Funds Raised
Please log contributions you’ve made for Gaza or other areas suffering because of human rights abuses and war crimes.
This is a non-violent action. You are welcome to wear any symbol of liberation or carry signs or flags. The venue is a metropark, and the event is not permitted, so there will be many other community members using the trails as well.
We will not tolerate discrimination or hate speech or behavior of any kind.
Hours of Event
We are asking walkers to be at Highbanks any time between 8 am – 6 pm on Saturday, March 16. But remember that this is an unsupported, informal and non-violent action, so you are welcome to walk anywhere, anytime in solidarity with Gaza and other areas of the world suffering because of human rights abuses and war crimes.
Walk Will Be Rain or Shine
In solidarity with the people of Gaza, who don’t get to stop suffering due to the genocide in progress when the weather gets uncomfortable, this walk will take place rain or shine.
We’d love to have 100 participants raise at least $100 each, for a total of $10,000 minimum. Whether or not you are registered for the event, please make sure to use the log to share your kind efforts with us.
Distance to Walk
Gaza is 25 miles long. There are many miles of trails at Highbanks and you are welcome to walk, run or roll 25 miles or even a quarter of a mile in solidarity with the people of Gaza and others suffering from horrific human rights abuses today.
Everyone is Welcome
Everyone who wants to support Gaza or other areas of the world, such as Sudan or the Congo, suffering because of human rights abuses or war crimes is invited to be a part of this walk. We welcome people of all faiths or no faith, people with disabilities and non-disabled people, and people of all ethnicities and gender identities.
Will there be food or other support?
No. The people of Gaza are not getting any support such as water, portable restrooms or food. In solidarity, you will be on your own for all of your needs during the walk. Restrooms and water are available throughout the Highbanks park, which is quite a lot more than the people of Gaza have access to right now.
Can I Participate Virtually?
Yes! If you can’t be at Highbanks on March 16, you are welcome to participate from anywhere, any time in solidarity.
Will there be security?
No. In solidarity with the people of Gaza, no security will be provided for this event. All of us will participate at our own risk. We will be subject to the rules and regulations of the metropark system and any local or municpal laws.
Please email Kay Coughlin at Kay @ FacilitatorOnFire.net if you have questions.
Do I Have to Register?
No, you don’t have to register if you would rather not for any reason. This is an informal community walk, run or roll. You are invited to participate according to your comfort level and abilities.
Are the Organizers Aware This Takes Place During Ramadan?
Yes. We invite our Muslim community members, who may be fasting during Ramadan, to partcipate in this Walk for Gaza in whatever ways you feel comfortable. If you would like to walk, run or roll any distance, or simply visit with the community on March 16 at Highbanks, please know you will be very welcome.
Can I get a t-shirt?
We don’t have any merchandise for this event. If you’d like to buy apparel or any other merchandise, please support aid for Palestinians! Consider buying from these organizations that give proceeds to help those suffering from the devastation in Gaza:
If you’d like to purchase a kuffiyeh (the traditional Palestinian scarf), Palestinian Elegance is an apparel company run by a Palestinian family and is located in Texas. Kuffiyehs that need to be shipped from elsewhere in the world may not arrive in time for the March 18 event.
